Free PS Plus games in March 2018

So, what’s on the menu for PlayStation Plus subscribers this month? The headline for most gamers will be Bloodborne, the hugely popular RPG game that draws comparisons to popular games like Dark Souls, but there are others available too if that’s not your cup of tea.

Bloodborne

Original Price: £29.99/$29.99 on PlayStation Store Platform(s): PS4 Yes, you read that right; the hugely popular action RPG will be available completely free of charge for PS Plus subscribers. Sony has been upping its game (pun intended) in the last few months when it comes to AAA-rated games, and Bloodborne is a great example of this. For those unaware, Bloodborne is an evolution of the ‘Souls’ series of games that places you in the shoes of an outsider arriving in the town of Yharnam, on a quest to locate a special form of healing. Sound interesting? It should.

Ratchet and Clank

Original Price: £29.99/$29.99 on PlayStation Store Platform(s): PS4 Ratchet and Clank is a PlayStation classic redesigned for current-gen consoles, and while it’s a brand new title in the series, it reveals the origin story of Ratchet and Clank’s relationship. It’s an all-around improvement compared to older titles; it boasts classic gameplay with tweaks that’ll make it more enjoyable and overhauled graphics to match. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the series, this is a great game to get stuck into.

Legend of Kay Anniversary

Original Price: £N/A/$24.99 on PlayStation Store Platform(s): PS3 Fans of the Legend of Kay should be excited, as the 10-year anniversary saw the introduction of Legend of Kay Anniversary, offering all the beauty of the original game but with enhanced graphics, improved controller mechanics and high-resolution textures. The game was never available to download on PS3 in the UK, but that’s set to change with the March line-up.

Mighty No. 9

Original Price: £15.99/$19.99 on PlayStation Store Platform(s): PS3 & PS4 If you’re a fan of old-school side-scrolling platformers, you’re going to love Mighty No. 9. Taking on the role of Beck, the 9th in a line of robots and the only one unaffected by a mysterious virus taking over the world. You’ll find yourself running, jumping, blasting and even transforming yourself to fight through the 12 stages on offer. You can steal your opponents’ abilities, making you deadlier the more that you play.

Claire: Extended Cut

Original Price: £13.99/$14.99 on PlayStation Store Platform(s): PS4 & PS Vita Released back in 2016, chances are you might not have heard of Claire: Extended Cut, created by indie studio Hailstorm Games. Thanks to PS Plus, you’ll get a chance to finally see what all the fuss is about. While visiting her sick mother, Claire takes a wrong turn and stumbles into a dark passage of echoing doors and abandoned rooms. Lost, Claire encounters an over-protective dog and few denizens who seem to be uninterested in Claire’s struggle. Did they block the doors and windows to keep something out, or is a malevolent force stopping Claire from leaving? Find out now, free of charge.

Bombing Busters

Original Price: £5.79/$9.99 on PlayStation Store Platform(s): PS4 & PS Vita If you were a fan of the classic Bomberman series, Bombing Busters should be on your download list. Improving on the mechanics of the classic game, Bombing Busters offer 30 mazes across 5 different worlds, and pits you against not only other bombers but by a range of critters and powerful bosses, all of which you have to blow up before moving on. It’s not just you vs the game though; you can play a fully customisable battle mode with 4 offline players or 8 online players (on PS4, anyway). The PS Vita variant matches the PS4 game in almost every way, but you can’t create custom matches (though you can join them).  Lewis Painter is a Senior Staff Writer at Tech Advisor. Our resident Apple expert, Lewis covers everything from iPhone to AirPods, plus a range of smartphones, tablets, laptops and gaming hardware.
