In these moments, a screenshot is the quickest way to make this happen, and thankfully this is very easy to do with an iPhone. We show you the simple method of capturing the contents of the display on an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus.
Which buttons take a screenshot on iPhone 8?
Taking a screenshot involves holding down a couple of the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus’ physical buttons simultaneously. To capture the image, press the Side button (the one that turns the device on and off) and at the same time press the Home button on the front of the iPhone. Hold both buttons for a second or so and let go. If you do this correctly you should see the display flash white, then in the bottom left hand corner a small version of the screenshot will appear. Tapping on this bring up the editing menu.
Editing the screenshot
Tap on the small image and you can crop the shot by dragging the blue edges that surround the image. There are also various annotating and drawing tools available, so you can highlight parts of the picture. In the bottom right corner, you’ll find a plus icon that gives you access to text boxes, a way to insert your signature, and the magnifier which can, as the name suggest, make parts of the image larger. When you’re happy with the screenshot, tap the Done option in the upper left corner and you’ll be able to save it to the Photos app (it will so in the Screenshots album).
